Malcolm Edwards, M.D., grew up in Lancaster, South Carolina. After graduating Magna Cum Laude with a degree in biology from the University of South Carolina, he earned his medical degree from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine. He completed his ophthalmology residency at Emory University in Atlanta, where he served as Chief Resident.

Lancaster has always been home, and it holds some of his most cherished memories. He knew he wanted to practice medicine here and give back to the community that had given him so much friendship and support. Growing up in a small town never limited his desire to travel and teach, and he has lectured throughout the United States and Europe. Dr. Edwards believes that teaching and learning go hand in hand.

Dr. Edwards joined The Lancaster Eye Clinic in 1988 and helped build it into what is now The Eye & Laser Center. He stays current in his field as an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the South Carolina Medical Association, and he is a member and past president of the South Carolina Society of Ophthalmology.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Edwards enjoys time with his family, especially his four grandchildren. He and his wife, Sandra, spend much of their free time on Lake Wateree with family, boating and skiing.
